Signing in
- Magic link
- Enter your email and follow the link it sends. No password to remember. The link works once, and only for 15 minutes.
- Passkey
- Your fingerprint, face or a hardware key, with nothing to type and no email to wait for. Add one in Settings after signing in with a link once. Magic links keep working, so adding a passkey locks nothing out — and removing your last one is fine too.
- Password
- Optional. Set one in Settings if you'd rather; Log in and stay logged in keeps you signed in, Log in only this time doesn't.
Staying signed in
Signing in with a magic link or a passkey keeps you signed in on that device for 14 days. Logging out ends it straight away.
Settings
- Changing it sends a confirmation link to the new address first.
- Weekly email
- Saturday morning: what's going off and what needs buying, across every space you're in. Never sent when there's nothing to say. See Dates and minimums.
- Passkeys
- Add, rename and remove them. Each one shows when it was last used, so an old phone's key is easy to spot and remove.
Waiting for approval
If the server's operator has switched on approval, a new account can't sign in until they let it in. Anybody already here is unaffected.
