Tokens, MCP and shortcuts

Pointing Claude Code or a Siri shortcut at a space.

An API token lets something other than this website read and change a space: Claude Code, another MCP client, or a shortcut on your phone. It's in the account menu, top right.

Tokens

  • A token belongs to one space, chosen when you create it, and can do anything you can do there.
  • It's shown once. Only a scrambled version is kept, so it can't be shown again. Copy it straight into wherever it's going. Lost it? Revoke it and make another.
  • Name it after what it's for ("laptop", "Siri") so you know which one to revoke. Each shows when it was last used.
  • Revoking a token stops anything using it immediately.

Claude Code and other MCP clients

MCP is how AI assistants use other services. With a token, Claude Code can search, stash and move things in your space just like the Rummager can. The exact command is on the API tokens page. Its changes appear in Activity marked mcp, and can be undone there.

Using Rummager this way costs this server nothing, so it doesn't count towards your monthly assistant allowance.

Adding Rummager as a connector in the Claude or ChatGPT apps isn't possible yet; those need a different kind of sign-in that hasn't been built.

A Siri shortcut

An iPhone shortcut can send a sentence, or a recording, straight into the Inbox: "Hey Siri, Stash" and say it. Step-by-step setup is at the bottom of the Inbox, under Capturing from a phone.
